We have been looking for incredible Mexican food in Knoxville over a year since we left California. My wife is from Mexico and we LOVED this place! This place was INCREDIBLE...we are coming back again soon! Be sure to try the pozole, tacos and the margaritas. They were perfect, not too sweet and we asked for spicy and they added real jalepenos.
The food was incredible! I ordered the steak, shrimp, rice, and cheese, and everything was perfectly prepared. The presentation was stunning, with a gorgeous flower topping the dish. The beef, bean, and cheese dip was a standout—absolutely delicious. We tried the jalapeno, which packed quite a punch—almost too much heat—but still really tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and the servers struck the perfect balance, checking in just enough to make sure we had everything we needed. This place is fantastic, and I can’t wait to come back and try the drinks!

By far the best cantina style food we've eaten in a restaurant! The flavors were beyond any of the locals that claim to have authentic. The servers were very attentive. A slight language barrier did make ordering a little more difficult but well worth the food they prepared and served! The atmosphere and entertainment was also great!
By far the best Mexican cuisine I have ever had. Alexis is a very attentive server and made sure I had exactly what I was looking for. The tacos carnitas are perfect. Their house made hot sauce is fire, but flavor packed. Will travel from NC just for this place.
This is not your average Mexican restaurant. This is wonderful Latino cuisine at its best. I ordered the flautas with chicken and my wife got the tamales with Verde sauce. Both were phenomenal. Another thing about this place is the cheese dip. It tastes different than every other cookie cutter Mexican restaurant. Everything about the food presentation is quaint and charming. One time I got an orchid on my plate as a garnish! And the service is wonderful. I find that the people there are helpful, kind and encouraging of having a good experience. I always feel welcome when I visit this place. I've been taking friends there for a while and it's becoming all of my people's favorite Mexican restaurant. It's unassuming and terrific. Had lunch at Cataleya Cantina and tried the Cantichanga with chicken—it was very good! Flavorful, well-prepared, and the portion was just right. Great spot if you're looking for something a little different with a Latin flair. I’ll definitely be back to try more.
